Sandy swimming beaches?

Staying in Rockport Maine for 3 days next week. Are there any sandy swimming beaches in the area? If not can any be found along the Maine or New Hampshire coastlines on our trip back to Boston?

Sandy swimming beaches?

many beaches for swimming all along the coast if you can tolerate the icy water temp. the size of the surf is what gets me to take the icy plunge. lots of fun. u certainly feel invigorated to say the least.

Sandy swimming beaches?

Thanks for responding. Can you tell me your favorite beaches, most scenic, biggest waves?

I hope some others will respond because I don%26#39;t know of any sandy swimming ocean beaches in the Rockport area. I could be wrong, though, because I live further south (just outside Bath) and don%26#39;t spend a lot of time around Rockport.

In the Bath area, there are two excellent sandy beaches at Popham Beach in Phippsburg and Reid State Park in Georgetown. From around Portland and the rest of the way south there are tons of sandy beaches.

Not too many folks in the ocean this time of year. Water temp in Portland harbor yesterday was 56 on the surface, and you%26#39;d better believe it was a lot colder down a few inches!

Regardless, if you want to check one out anyway, and take a detour to the Greater Portland area on your way to Boston, there are two State parks that have gorgeous, sandy beaches: Crescent Beach State Park and Scarborough Beach State Park. Waves a little better at Scarborough.

i mainely just visit ogunquit, maine. the beach there is white sand and big surf.
