Has anyone eaten at the Eden Vegetarian Cafe? What did you think of it?

Any other restaurants with good vegetarian options?

I know, I know, I%26#39;m going to lobster country...but a lot of my family doesn%26#39;t eat meat or seafood and I%26#39;m looking for some other options.

We are not vegetarian but we did eat at Eden last year and I thought it was excellent. I had the Bento Box which I really enjoyed and my wife had an eggplant dish which was also very good. It is a small restaurant so make sure that you make reservations particularly if you are going with a group. And expect vegetarian cuisine with a flair.

There is a breakfast place called Jeannie%26#39;s which is on Cottage Street. They have a couple of vegetarian breakfast entrees which are very good as well - a spicey tofu scramble and oatmeal pancakes. We have had both over the past couple of years and both were very good.

Eat a Pita is a great restaurant in Southwest Harbor with a lot of vegetarian options. Service can be slow, might be tough with a group, but the food is great! You can sit inside or out, and might be better off going mid-week instead of the weekend.

Most restaurants of which I am aware regularly offer one or more vegetarian options. If any of your family is vegan, that%26#39;s a different matter---Eden may be the only source.

Eden Vegetarian is not only the best vegetarian on the island (and in Maine ) but, in my opinion, it is definitely one of the best overall restaurants on the island. And I am not a vegetarian by any stretch!! Really, Mark is one of the best chefs out there! What he can do without any meat products at all is simply astounding and delicious!! When they are open I eat there at least once a week. You will not be disappointed!

Sorry, don%26#39;t know when Eat-A-Pita opens. We%26#39;re always there in July when the place is hopping!
