Rate Question for Early June

My husband and I are planning a return trip to Ogunquit during the first week of June. We stayed at Terrace by the Sea last year and loved it; unfortunately, they do not have a room for 5 nights and we would have to switch rooms mid-week. I%26#39;ve been checking rates and we are considering The Beachmere, Anchorage By The Sea, Blue Shutters, and The Grand Hotel. I am waiting on availability/rates from The Gazebo and The Dunes. Also, 16 Beach Street looks nice.

But, my real question is this: Why are the rates at The Grand Hotel so much less expensive? I know that they are not on the water, but their rooms were quoted as under $100/night, for what sounds like a decent room. We walked by this hotel last year and it did not look too bad from the outside, and some of the reviews here are pretty good. Is it worth staying at?

I can%26#39;t answer your questions about the Grand Hotel but I can vouch for the Beachmere Inn.

I%26#39;ve stayed there several times and absolutely love it . It sits right on the Marginal Way and thus affords great views out to sea, has easy access to a small beach, the rooms are great, breakfast is included, and the people who run it are wonderful. It is also loaded with charm and is the type of place that people return to year after year. There%26#39;s no place else I%26#39;d rather stay!

Rate Question for Early June

We have stayed at The Grand Hotel several times and like it very much. We started staying there because of the rates. Each unit is a suite with a bedroom and a good size living/dining area. There is a small wet bar type of area. The furniture was a little dated but it was clean (seems to me they may have recently done over some rooms). As a matter of fact the sofa was a large sectional, very comfortable. There is also a private balcony. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We liked it 1)the rates 2) large suite 3) location 4) balcony. Hope this helps.
