cw/John Edwards

cw, I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;re handling all this crazy weather like a pro!!! I know this cold ,wind, and rain/snow/sleet this time of the year is driving me crazy. Friends have had to unpack their winter clothes!!!

But, July will be here before I know it and I%26#39;m taking your advice and making sure I stop in John Edwards, I%26#39;ll have to get directions when the time gets closer. This was also recommended by CounyMounty. So I%26#39;m looking forward to something new. I will be in Bar Harbor for 3 days before heading to Swan%26#39;s Island and I will need to stock up on ALL food supplies this year, since there will be nowhere to get supplies at all this year. Oh well, that%26#39;s the price you pay when you love the island!!!

Well, it%26#39;s beginning to get a bit irritating. Tonight/tomorrow%26#39;s torrential rains are likely to remove the last of 17 inches of snow that fell about ten days ago. The good news is that the village public works crew came around and chipped/removed all of the limbs that came down from the pine trees in the neighborhood.

John Edwards is on Main Steet in Ellsworth---that%26#39;s the main drag of the original town. I don%26#39;t know how you are coming into the area. If you are coming up Rtes. 1 %26amp; 3 (the coastal route), you will hit Main Street directly; John Edwards is about two long blocks up the hill on the left after you cross the Union River. If you are coming in on Rte. 1-A from Bangor, then at the first stoplight you will have to turn right and head downhill on Rtes. 1 %26amp; 3. Approaching from that direction, John Edwards will be on the right.

If you have the time, you might also check out Rooster Brother, which is on Main right at the river bridge. Lots of coffees, teas, wines, other goodies, as well as a great kitchen equipment store, in case you forgot to pack something.

Between those two, plus Shaws and Hannaford up on the strip, you could provision an army.

It%26#39;s a little early, but welcome back.
