I%26#39;m looking for quick daytrip ideas...driving from the JetPort area that would be at most 45 minutes one way (i%26#39;ll stretch for an hour...only if it%26#39;s really worth it!), mapquest-friendly, parking stress-free, scenic but not isolated.
any thoughts? thanks!

Best quick daytrips from Portland?
Wolfe%26#39;s Neck State Park in Freeport, ME offers great, easy hiking along beautiful Casco Bay.
LL Bean (based in Freeport) offers 1/2 day kayaking trips and other ';outdoor adventures'; nearby. (I believe you can sign up in advance on their website...maybe it%26#39;s called Outdoor Discovery or something like that)
Per Mapquest, Portland Jetport to downtown Freeport is 27 minutes...figure another 10-15 to Wolfe%26#39;s Neck.
There is picnicking at Wolfe%26#39;s Neck or many lunch places in Freeport itself. Note that Main Street does get crowded w/ tourists in summer. You can avoid the main drag to find your way to the park though.
Have fun.
Best quick daytrips from Portland?
Definately Wolfs Neck State Partk...you can eat lobster at the Harraseeket Lobster Pound afterwards! Two Lights State Park and Portland Head Light are also nice daytrips. The rocks at Two Lights are so unique and beautiful. Scarborough River south of Portland has some beautiful places to walk along the salt marshes.
great tips! thanks
