suggestions

We are coming to Ogunquit for 4 days in July and are planning a day to visit Lake Winnipesaukeee and are looking at coming back via Concord. How long will this take? Is there a more scenic/ interesting route to take?

In a stay of 4 days, what are the ';must see'; places to visit.

All suggestions/opinions are wlcome

I personally wouldn%26#39;t consider coming back via Concord to be scenic but I%26#39;m not overly familiar with the area. I would suggest heading up route 3 to 93 and then crossing the Kangamangus Highway (very scenic), take that over to Route 16, from there you could go two ways, the longer but more scenic would be to head north on 16 to route 302 E to Bridgton which would bring you out to 95 in Portland, ME, or take 16 S which will bring you to 95 in Portsmouth, NH.

suggestions

The distances are not too great. Ogunquit to Winnipesaukee may be an hour, perhaps a bit more. From various points on Winnipesaukee it may be an hour or less to Concord. All very doable.

Are you planning on staying overnight on Winni, or just day touring? Is there something you are hoping to see or do at the lake? Is there a particular reason that Concord is a goal? When you say ';coming back via COncord';, where are you coming back to?

mominme has some good ideas, depending on your goal for the day. I-93 is nice as far as Interstate highways go. But if you don%26#39;t need to actually be in or end up in Concord for a paricular reason, there are other routes, including some portions of her suggestions, that would accomplish your scenic goal better than heading over to Rte3 and I-93.
