Rest In Peace. Epi

I%26#39;m crushed! It%26#39;s gone. Gone! Just vanished. ugh. sad. so very very sad. (sigh)

Rest In Peace. Epi

As is Donahue%26#39;s.

And you are right, Epi did just vanish---loaded up some of the equipment one night and poof!

I%26#39;ve been meaning to update the restaurant scene but it%26#39;s still a bit early. There is another new place going in---the Portside Grill---which replaces the Island Chowder House. They haven%26#39;t opened yet, nor have I seen a menu.

Rest In Peace. Epi

Ugh!!

I looked forward to my %26#39;Precipe%26#39; sandwiches each visit! EPI had great sandwiches. I%26#39;ll miss that place.

EPI was my favorite for an after-hike lunch. We also just went to Donohue%26#39;s last fall for the first time and thought the burgers were great. Will miss them!

I know....I know...it%26#39;s the end of an era :(. We went to BH a couple of weeks ago and couldn%26#39;t believe Epi%26#39;s was gone. They had great pizza and soups, too....

Did they close the Bangor location as well?

Last I knew, the EPI in Bangor was still open.

I was in Bangor in April and I did notice a ';for sale'; sign outside the building that houses Epi%26#39;s. Didn%26#39;t think anything about it at the time, but now......?

Tragic...have been going to EPI forever! Went to BH in May and it was gone! BH is not the same!

Take heart.

I heard today that Epi (the Bar Harbor version) may reopen under new management/ownership in a couple of weeks.

WOW! I used to eat there all the time when I was little but I noticed it wasn%26#39;t as good in recent years (or my tastebuds changed). Sad to hear the news.
