I%26#39;m getting married on August 18. We have had our honeymoon plans up in the air b/c we couldn%26#39;t decide on doing a full honeymoon vs. just a mini-moon right away, and what the scale of each trip would be. We finally decided to go somewhere for six nights right after the wedding, and then take a tropical trip in January. We%26#39;re thinking that Maine sounds fun for August. Neither of us have been to Maine. However, at this late date, are we going to be totally out of luck on finding places to stay?? We would like to go to Acadia area; probably a couple nights in Camden and a couple in Bar Harbor. What do you think?
Honeymoon in August??
Well you can start calling around and see if there%26#39;s anything available but that is peak season so it would probably be a challenge. I wouldn%26#39;t wait around here for answers, get on the phone and start asking who has vacancies left in August!
Honeymoon in August??
I think that if you make your plans soon, you should be o.k. but don%26#39;t let it go much longer. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park would make a fine honeymoon spot and if you like to do outdoor type activities (hiking, biking, kayaking, walking, sailing, whale watching, etc.) you could spend the whole time here. Camden is a beautiful coastal, harbor town, but I would only spend one night there ( I am a little biased toward Acadia and Bar Harbor).Have a great time no matter what you decide.
Just wanted to add that if you are interested in B%26amp;B%26#39;s, you can check most of the B%26amp;B%26#39;s availability by going to the Bar Harbor B%26amp;B Assoc. website at www.sleepbarharbor.com.
