Someone posted that as of November 1st basically all restaurants in the Perkins Cove and surrounding area shut down....
I guess I am in shock. My husband and I managed to get a good deal on airfare arriving there on November 4 for 3 nites and staying at the Gazebo Inn but to hear that we would basically not be able to enjoy any of the ambience of good restaurants in the area is very disheartening to us.
We are not fast food types and so this is not the experience we were after.
I realize that November is not the most optimal time to go but can%26#39;t help thinking even with the low airfare, if all this is true, what a waste it might be....
I hope someone can provide some encouraging words but if not I guess we will have to live with it.....
NO restaurants open after November 1st in area? Your kidding
It is true that a lot of restaurants in Ogunquit close during the ';off'; season, but there are still some restaurants open, particularly ones in town. Most, of not all of of the Perkin%26#39;s Cove restaurants will be closed (including my favorite, Barnacle Billys). I encourage you to read the artricle published in the Boston Globe in January - it is about things to do during winter in Ogunquit.

If it does not work, this article was found on the Ogunquit forum page of trip advisor.
I have not been to Maine in November, but I have visited in June and October. Ogunquit is my favorite place in the world, and I would travel there to matter what the season! Even if things are a little slow in Ogunquit, towns and cities like Wells, Portsmouth, Portland, Kennebunkport, Boothbay, etc., are all within driving distance and will offer more dining opportunities and activities.
I don%26#39;t think your trip will be a waste - please read the article, it will help give you some ideas. Enjoy your trip!

go to www.ogunquit.org. There is a pamphlet you can download that lists all of the restaurants and indicates which ones are open year round.
There will be enough open between York and kittery to satisfy you. I know Angelina%26#39;s Italian restaurant is open year round and I think Mikes%26#39;s Clam shack in Wells is open year round except for a few weeks in Feb. A lot of restaurants and shops stay open till X-Mass especially on weekends.
