Our friends who don%26#39;t speak english are travelling in mid-July and want to rent an ocean front property in Maine and want a 4-5 or 6 bedrooms to accomodate the entire family (10-12 people). they want to be on the beach and in a quiet area. They don%26#39;t like noise and traffic, since they are very private peopel They are very last minute, does anyone have any recommendations. I have tried vrbo, cyberrentals, etc.
large waterfront home needed urgently for mid-july?
I would try to find an area first. %26#39;Ocean front property in Maine%26#39; is a pretty large area. Once you find an area, check with a local realtor as they might have vacation rentals.
There are many areas that might fit your requirements but ones that come to my mind are:
Mount Desert Island (the west side)
Deer Isle/Stonington
St Georges Peninsula (Port Clyde, Tenants Harbor, Owls Head)
Maybe even an island like Isleboro.
This probably goes without saying but an oceanfront home that will accomodate that number of people during that timeframe will be pricey.
Good Luck.

Don%26#39;t know if you came across this one. It%26#39;s on an island off the coast of Portland. Truly a lovely place.
Check with Diane Hall at True Hall Real Estate at 207-372-8952. She has alot of great rental houses.
';on the beach and in a quiet area';? That%26#39;s sort of an oxymoron in Maine. If by beach you mean sand, then be aware that most of the beaches are south of Portland...and very crowded.
If I was seeking out a sandy beach and quiet, I%26#39;d look first in
Popham Beach
Biddeford Pool
Kennebunkport
A realtor might be your best bet for a house of that size. Be ready to shell out $3k or more for a week for that many bedrooms on the beach
This is a cool BIG house I looked at in person when our family was looking to rent. www.lsrobinson.com/rentals/search/index.php3… Not what I would call a sandy beach, but more of a rocky beach. Because it was on directly on the ocean it had the great sound of waves crashing. Very quiet private location. I thought the house was utterly cool. A bit old-fashioned/rustic/old Maine, but not too much so for my tastes. I would have rented it but we decided on a week they weren%26#39;t available.
The house we ended up renting was also old and charming, but not on a beach. It was more centrally (and conveniently) located. See www.lsrobinson.com/rentals/search/index.php3…
in Stonington check out http://www.abetterviewrental.com
The lady who owns it was very helpful and she had some lovely properties. I would have rented from her but got out-voted by the family (they wanted to be closer to Bar Harbor).
