Fishing in Bar harbor

Hello, my husband %26amp; I will be traveling to Bar Harbor middle of June for a week. He loves to fish. We will be flying in. Would it be worth it to bring his rod %26amp; reel along? He would like to go out early morning locally and fish. Not renting a boat, but maybe a stream or off a peir. Thanks

Fishing in Bar harbor

Fishing is not a strong part of tourism here on MDI. There is one stream that I know is fished (Northeast Creek) but he would need a canoe. Eagle Lake, Jordan Pond, Bubble Pond, Echo Lake, and Long Pond are fishable and both have bank access via trails or carriage roads.

All that I have mentioned except for Echo Lake are part of the public water supply; wading is aggressively frowned upon.

Fishing the ocean shoreline is possible although I don%26#39;t recall seeing anyone do it. There aren%26#39;t any fishing piers per se.

Go to %26lt;www.acadiamagic.com%26gt; and go to the Acadia National Park link for more detailed information on license requirements, etc.
