Cruise Stop

My son (23) and I (53) will be in Bar Harbor on May 25 from 8 am-6 pm for one day at port. We can always buy a cruise tour, but we%26#39;d like some suggestions on how we can get around to see the Acadia park without the fixed schedule of a tour.

Thanks for your help.

Cruise Stop

There are some tours that are not associated with the cruise ships. Oli%26#39;s Trolley is perhaps the best:

There also will be taxis available when you disembark which do park tours.

You are coming fairly early in our season. Later in the year, there are free shuttle buses that go into Acadia National Park. But not in May. Your best bet would be Oli%26#39;s Trolley as the previous poster suggested. It will take you on a narrated tour of Bar Harbor itself and then into the Park, including the top of Cadillac Mountain.

The taxis are run by Panama Geddy%26#39;s. He uses old sedans or limos and gives a narrated tour of wherever you would like to go.

The cruise ships cannot dock in Bar Harbor. You will have to take a tender (small boat) to the dock. From where you are left off it is about a two block walk, up the hill, and you will see Oli%26#39;s Trolley.

Your other option is just to wander around the streets of Bar Harbor.

Thanks for your help!
