I%26#39;m looking for input on the Captain%26#39;s Garden House in Kennebunkport. I%26#39;ve seen many positive reviews for the Captain Lord Mansion, and was wondering if anyone has stayed in the Garden House. Is it on the same grounds as the mansion? Would you reccomend one over the other? Thank you!
Captain's Garden House
We just returned from a stay at the Captain%26#39;s Garden House. If anything, we feel we would have preferred it over staying at the Mansion. We were two couples and stayed in the Lois and Susan rooms. The Garden House is on the grounds ~ a five second walk(literally) from the main house and you are welcome to use all Mansion amenities.
We found that, other than checking out the gift shop and a tour of a few of the open rooms in the mansion, we barely ventured to the Mansion at all.
The privacy of having only four guest rooms, private chef, private parking and, generally, dealing with a total of only four more guests (since we occupied two of the rooms) made it seem more like our own decadent home.
It is gorgeous and just as well appointed as the Mansion.
