York Beach inn/hotel/motel suggestion: family of 5?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a family friendly place that would shelter a family of 5 - 2 adults, 2 kids under 6 and an infant? It%26#39;s the last stop of our New England extravanganza so we%26#39;d love to go somewhat upscale with an oceanview. Unfortunately, most of those types of places do not want us, or I should say, do not want the THREE rugrats.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Do a forum search on ';Long Beach Motor Inn'; and you%26#39;ll read a hilarious thread about where NOT to stay.

I think I would go with nearby Ogunquit. Take a look at beachmereInn.com

I had discovered that thread yesterday! I laughed until I cried.

I will check out Ogunquit. Thanks.

Well, we%26#39;ve booked the Union Bluff. What an ordeal it%26#39;s been. Feeling a bit unsure about it because this is the cheapest hotel we booked on our entire stay and only oceanfront ...

I am still open to other ideas though. Thanks.

Did you try The Stage Neck Inn? I%26#39;ve eaten there and it%26#39;s very nice. Great views. Good restaurant. I would think that they would take little ones.

Last time I drove through the area the Union Bluff didn%26#39;t look too great, but it was in the middle of renovations. I hope to be in the area soon and will look it over for you. As I remember it is not oceanfront but you have to walk across a street to get to the water, hopefully I can come back to this thread in a couple of weeks and clarify for you.

When we drove by the Union Bluff the other day it was a mess. Construction everywhere, and it didn%26#39;t look anywhere near being completed. Room views were mostly of bulldozers and porta-pottys. We noticed that the hotel WAS basically right on the water, but the ';beach'; in front requires a long walk over lots of rocky shore, not suitable for young young children. York Beach and the area of the Union Bluff looked a little ';downscale'; to say the least.

In Ogunquit, Sparhawk, Anchorage and Sea Chambers all looked well located for families.

Anchorage York would be perfect!
