You were so helpful with the biking info, I was wondering if anyone had some picnic locations they would recommend in Acadia. We are going to picnic before taking the Jordan Pond Carriage run (stopping for popovers as part of the tour) so I really don%26#39;t want to picnic at Jordan Pond. I%26#39;ve done Sand Beach and it always seems buggy when I go. I%26#39;m open to Bar Harbor area in general if you think of some good ones there instead. We have about 2 hours between church and the ride.
Thanks!
Elise

One of my favorite little places is Little Hunters Beach. You reach it on the loop road; it%26#39;s about half way between the Otter Cove causeway and Wildwood Stables---which I presume is where you%26#39;ll get the carriage. There is a small parking turnout on the right (but you can just park in the right-hand lane) and sturdy steps down to the cobblestone pocket beach. Or, you can stay on top and walk a short distance to the shore. No amenities, but a very nice place.

Ships harbor, wonderland, seawall(but seawall can be windy.)
