Maine in 3rd week May

Hello All,

Travelling to portland maine from May 23rd-26th. How is the weather over there? Is it a great time to go, the last week before Memorial Day. Love visiting mansions etc. Anyone know if there are any here to see. Thanks!!

Best bet on weather is looking a few days ahead on a weather website. it can be sketchy even at that time of year. Just as liekly to be 80 degrees and gorgeous as it it 48 degrees and rainy.

There are a couple of Mansion type sights in Portland. Victoria Mansion (www.victoriamansion.org). Within walking distance from that is the Portland Museum of Art (www.portlandmuseum.org) and it has the McClellan House attached with some historical restoration. Not much to see for period furniture etc...I wouldn%26#39;t go just to see that but the museum is pretty great too. Both Victoria Mansion and the Museum/McClellan House are in walking distance of each other.

Also walking distance, farther down Congress St, is the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, part of the Maine Historical Society. While not a ';mansion'; it is an interesting glimpse of what life was like in early 1800s.

If you rent a car, be sure to take a drive out to Two Lights Park on Cape Elizabeth!
