What is the nearest airport to Bar Harbor. I am coming from Virginia. Also, what day trips could I take from Bar HArbor

Bangor is the usual airport that tourists use coming to Bar Harbor. There is a smaller airport, just off the island, in Trenton. But it has very few commericial flights.

There%26#39;s no need to do day trips from Bar Harbor. You will have all of Acadia National Park to explore right at your doorstep.

Hi. There are a few other options as well but none are closer than the Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton. Bangor is next but some are flying into Manchester NH (Southwest - great fares), Portland ME or Logan in Boston. Manchester and Logan are almost equal for time - about five hours. It will depend on how much time you have and how much you want to spend. Have a great trip!

Well, it really doesn%26#39;t make any difference whether you are coming from Virginia, Moscow, Tokyo, or the moon---Bangor International is the closest major airport to Bar Harbor. Second closest would be Portland. I haven%26#39;t scoped out the distances and driving times, but beyond those two, I suspect that Manchester, NH and Boston would be pretty much a wash for third.

As to day trips, what is it that interests you? Day trips from Bar Harbor could put you on Schoodic peninsula, Lubec, Campobello, Portland, Camden, Rockland, Freeport, etc.
