Portrait Photographer in Bar Harbor Name?

Hope that you locals can help me wiith this one...as I mentioned in a previous post a while back my daughter is getting married on Seawall Beach in July. We%26#39;d like to arrange with a local photographer to take a family portrait sometime that week, in a scenic setting, informal and casual. Date and time is flexible. Any names or thoughts? Thanks!

Wow! You are terrific! Have you or any one you know of had any experience with any of them?

Unfortunately, no---no experience with them, nor have I heard anything.

Incidentally, as I was headed down to Sherman%26#39;s today for the newspapers, there was a wedding party forming at the Catholic Church on Mt. Desert St. Everyone was in formal attire (black tie, etc.). The bride, her father, and probably her maid of honor were transported to the church from Ann%26#39;s White Columns in a very nice one-horse carriage. Talk about harkening back to the glory days of BH...

What a beautiful setting for a wedding! Our very practical, no-frills daughter has always dreamed of a wedding in BH so we%26#39;re happy to go along with the Seawall idea and then Thurston%26#39;s afterward. I%26#39;m checking into the photographer%26#39;s names you gave me, thanks again!

Don%26#39;t know of any directly there. One I like - quite unknown.. luckily.. is Beth Morin. But she%26#39;s in the Bangor Area. ..um, OldTown I believe. She does great work. If you can%26#39;t find anyone on the island, Bangor area would travel if available, I%26#39;m sure.

It WAS a gorgeous day and the bride and groom made just the cutest couple. They are both such sweet and considerate folks and they had a grand time. The carriage took them from the church to the reception at the Bar Harbor Inn, and they had a great time as they rode thru the downtown and folks waved and shouted ';congratulations'; to them.

A friend of mine had Donna Just do family pictures for her. She was very pleased with the pictures but frustrated that it took longer to get the pictures than she had been told....probably because it was Christmas time and I assume the photographer had several people waiting for pics to make into Christmas cards! Despite that, my friend would still highly recommend her.

Also, I have seen Tony Ortega%26#39;s work several times and he is highly regarded and reasonably priced according to colleagues who have had him photograph weddings of their children.

There is also a local person named Pennie Schwartz. She does a very nice job with casual portraits and is also reasonable in price. She doesn%26#39;t have a web site yet but you can call her at 460-6490.

Thanks for all your help. We%26#39;ve decided to go with Desert Isle Images, they were very prompt in responding to our questions and really seemed to get the fact that we wanted casual, informal, ';Mainey'; photos. Had many helpful suggestions too. Now all we need is nice weather!
