That will get you into Weather Underground%26#39;s trip planner for Bar Harbor. Punch in the range of dates you are interested in and you will get lots of numbers to look at.
4-20 October ought to pretty much bridge the fall foliage season. We often get a little color development before that, but the color lasts pretty well unless we get a prolonged period of cold and rain.
Lobster pounds tend to close down earlier than do other restaurants; I think some do stay open through the Columbus Day weekend (6-8 Oct. this year). As to the best, check some of the discussions from earlier this year on this forum.

Well thanks for the information. So does Bar harbor close up after Columus day? I will be so sad if that is the case.. Well I have already bought our plane tickets so we will be there either way. I jsut really wanted to go to a lobster pound. Have a nice day and Mahalo
No, by no means does Bar Harbor close up the day after the Columbus Day weekend. However, the true lobster pounds tend to close earlier in October whereas the shops, other restaurants, and lodging establishments mostly stay open into the last week of October.
Even so, there are a lot of places to get lobster other than at the pounds.
As noted, Bar Harbor does not close down after Columbus Day. In any case, Bar Harbor itself isn%26#39;t really the attraction here. Acadia National Park is the draw and it stays magnficently open all year %26#39;round. Once the leaves begin to thin on the trees, the hiking is even more spectacular as the views to ocean and islands open up.
