Please Help

Hi, My family of 4, including a 10 and 8 year old will be staying in Higgins Beach for 2 weeks the beginning of July. Are there any special things we should do or see? This is our second visit to the area. We stayed on an island the last trip so we were more limited. We do have a few things planned;

Lobster Shack

fishing with guide, husband

shopping in Freeport, me

hanging on beach, all of us

climbing rocks, kids

Please Help

-Seakayaking tours/lessons out of portland/yarmouth or freeport

-Hiking/Biking/picnicing in Bradley Palmer State Park (very close to Freeport shopping)

-Aquaboggins in Saco (little easier to manage with that age vs. Funtown)

-Fishing on or off shore

-qquick and easy boat rides out of portland

-ferry to one of the islands and bike around for the day.

Please Help

If you want to do some more Freeport shopping, you could let the rest of your family do something at one of the LL Bean outdoor discovery schools. Go to their website (www.llbean.com) and take a look at all the things they offer. One of the really nice things they have is ';walk-on adventures'; so that you can just show up and, assuming that there aren%26#39;t too many people ahead of you, they will take you, equip you and give you a couple of hours worth of kayaking, archery, fly casting or clay shooting. One of our local papers had a feature about a young woman who tried all four and, though she described herself as strictly a citified person, had a pretty good time all-----though she did say she found fishing a bit boring and was very bad at shooting.

In the Freeport area there is also Bradbury Mountain state park, which offers a very easy hike with the reward of a beautiful view.

Thanks so much that gives us lots of great ideas. Can%26#39;t wait to get there!
